In cases of minor damage to your windscreen, a repair instead of a full windscreen replacement, can restore the integrity of the glass. The auto technician injects a resin-based bonding agent into the damaged area. This stops the windscreen from cracking further and prevents the damage from spreading. Once a windscreen repair is complete, the driver's view is no longer impaired by the damage (if you look closely, you may be able to detect some residual scarring where the glass was filled with the bonding agent). Windshield repairs are not done for cosmetic reasons, only to maintain the stuctural integrity of your windscreen.
